Kohi App
Google UX Certificate Case Study
Purpose of Kohi
Kohi = romanized translation of "coffee" from Japanese
The app will let full-time employees and students make pre-planned & stress-free reservations that fit within their busy schedules

Kohi's main function is to allow users reserve a seat at local coffee shops to work, study, or meet up with a friend
Process of Kohi
I began the project with conducting user interviews and competitive analysis research. Based on those findings, I created personas, user flows, and Big Picture & Close Ups. I proceeded with the ideation process, starting with Crazy 8s for brainstorming session. Then, I designed lo-fi wireframes, which were used for usability testing. Lastly, I created a hi-fi wireframe and a prototype, which were followed by the final round of usability testing, before submitting the project.

Lo-fi v Hi-Fi Example

Lo-fi prototype included all steps of reservation on a single screen
Negative space needed to be improved, as well as, taking a new approach to create a simplified reservation process
The final hi-fi prototype reflects changes made from the original lo-fi counterpart.
Each part of the reservation process (selecting date, seat, and time) had its own screen, allowing the user to focus on specific parts without distractions.
I also added a confirmation page and QR code page that is used to check-in for one's reservation.
